About NES Indonesia

More Than a Scholarship — A Movement for Moderate, Global-Ready Educators

NES Indonesia is the flagship initiative of the Nasima Education Scholarship (NES), launched by the NASIMA Islamic Education Foundation in partnership with the Nahdlatul Ulama Provincial Board (PWNU) of Central Java. Our mission is simple but ambitious: prepare NU educators who are fluent in English and deeply rooted in the spiritual and intellectual traditions of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah an-Nahdliyah.

We believe language is a tool for service. That's why every participant is trained not just to speak English with confidence, but to carry the values of akhlaqul karimah — sincerity, honesty, and moral courage — into classrooms, communities, and the global stage.

Our difference

What Makes NES Indonesia Different

Five commitments that shape every intake — from the first selection interview to the final day of immersive training.

  1. 01

    Dual-Track Learning: Language + Leadership

Our curriculum blends English for Specific Purposes (ESP) with a Supplementary Program on personal integrity, ethical leadership, and spiritual maturity — so linguistic mastery never stands apart from character.

  2. 02

    Built on Proven Adult-Learning Principles

Designed around Malcolm Knowles' principles of andragogy — autonomy, reflection, and relevance — our program meets working educators where they are, connecting every lesson to real classroom experience.

  3. 03

Global Communication, Rooted in Islam Nusantara

Participants learn public speaking and global communication skills to articulate the values of a peaceful, inclusive, and transformative Islam — carrying the spirit of rahmatan lil 'alamin into international academic and professional settings.

  4. 04

    Intensive, Immersive Training

Selected participants complete a fully immersive six-week dormitory training program in Pare, Kediri — delivered in partnership with Akses Advance Training — for real, lasting fluency, not just classroom theory.

  5. 05

    Merit-Based, Transparent Selection

Every candidate is assessed through a rigorous, merit-based selection process — independently designed and administered by expert examiners — ensuring every educator who earns a place is ready for the challenge ahead.
